Electrical Repair
From a single dead outlet to an intermittent fault no one else could find — diagnosed properly before anything gets fixed.
Most electrical repair calls fall into a handful of categories: an outlet or switch that's stopped working, lights that flicker or dim unexpectedly, a breaker that trips repeatedly, or a buzzing, warm, or discolored device that shouldn't be doing any of those things. Some of these are simple, contained fixes — a failed switch, a loose wire nut. Others are a visible symptom of something upstream: an overloaded circuit, a failing connection inside the panel, or wiring that's degraded with age.
The reason that distinction matters is that fixing the visible symptom without checking for the underlying cause just delays the real problem. A replaced outlet that keeps failing again within months, or a breaker that gets reset instead of investigated, usually means the actual fault is still there. We diagnose before we repair, and we tell you plainly whether what we found is a contained, one-time fix or a sign that something else in the circuit or panel deserves a closer look.
Repair calls are also often the first time we see a home's electrical system up close, and it's common to spot a second, unrelated issue while addressing the first — an outlet with reversed polarity, a double-tapped breaker, a missing GFCI where one is now required. We'll point these out, but we won't turn a simple repair call into an unnecessary upsell; you decide what gets addressed and when.
- Diagnosis of dead outlets, switches, and circuits
- Repair or replacement of failed devices and connections
- Investigation of intermittent or hard-to-reproduce faults
- GFCI/AFCI troubleshooting and code-compliance checks
- Identification of related issues found during the visit, explained clearly
How it works
From first call to finished work.
Diagnose
We trace the actual cause rather than just replacing the failed part on sight.
Explain
You get a clear explanation of what's wrong and what fixing it involves, before we start.
Repair
The repair is completed, along with any code-compliance items that come up along the way.
Verify
The circuit is tested under normal use before we consider the job done.
Frequently asked
Electrical Repair questions, answered.
Why did my outlet suddenly stop working with no obvious cause?+
The most common causes are a tripped GFCI upstream (even in a different room), a tripped or failed breaker, a loose wire connection, or a failed receptacle. We test the circuit systematically rather than guessing at which of these it is.
Is a warm switch plate or outlet cover dangerous?+
It can be. Warmth usually indicates a loose connection or an overloaded circuit generating resistance heat, both of which are worth having inspected rather than monitored. Stop using the device until it's checked.
How quickly can you respond to a non-emergency repair request?+
Scheduling depends on current workload, but most routine repair requests are scheduled within a few business days. If the issue involves sparking, burning smells, or exposed wiring, call our 24/7 emergency line instead.
